Teeth
I had just finished telling the boys that they were going to see the dentist August 30th for a cleaning/check-up before they went back to school. (I think it is time for their eye check-up, too. I need to remember to schedule that.)
About 20 minutes later Adrian was complaining that his tooth hurt when he tried to eat his lunch. I sighed and said to Nick that it was pretty convenient that his tooth started hurting just after I told him about the dentist. (It isn’t uncommon for him to complain about something hurting, after another person brings up an injury that they had/have.)
But then at dinner he was complaining again, so I got him to show me which tooth was hurting. Lo and behold, one of his front bottom teeth is loose. Huzzah!
He was really worried about it, thinking that he would lose all of his teeth and not be able to talk anymore. I tried explaining that, no, only one tooth will fall out right now. And then a big boy tooth will grow in its place. And all of his teeth would do that eventually, but it would take a couple years. I’m not sure if he understands, though.
