Argh. Car Insurance

Good timing: Right when Nick is about to go on leave from work (thus earning a percentage of his pay) my car insurance decides to up my payments from $180 a month to $330.

Why? I’m not entirely sure. I’m trying to phone them, but they’re on lunch. Recently they were taken over by a new company, and I recieved notice that this would cause our payments to go up “by a small amount”. I can’t really think of any other reason.

God damn car insurance being mandatory. *shakefist* I’m half tempted to just un-insure my car and go without for a few months. There is public transit around here to get me to the grocery store (and there is one about a 15-20 min walk away, which isn’t so bad anyway), and Nick will be off work so he won’t need a ride in or anything.
